Kip Levin Named GeoComply CEO

The Vancouver-based geolocation and compliance tech supplier GeoComply announced that Kip Levin will be the company’s new CEO, effective March 4.

Levin brings over a decade’s experience to his new role as CEO. Most recently, he served as strategic advisor to FanDuel and in various senior leadership roles at Flutter Entertainment, including CEO of FOXBet and CEO of Flutter Entertainment’s US business. Before this, Levin also spent 12 years at Ticketmaster, overseeing the company’s transition into mobile and resale markets.

“I am incredibly excited to join GeoComply, a company with a strong reputation for innovation and a commitment to customer success. The opportunities in this space are immense, and I look forward to working with Anna, David, and the entire GeoComply team to build on the company’s success and drive further growth for our clients. My experience in scaling businesses and driving product innovation will be instrumental as we navigate the evolving landscape of geolocation technology, ensuring we provide our customers with the most reliable and effective solutions,” Levin said.

Levin’s appointment also allows for the transition of co-founder Anna Sainsbury to Executive Chairman. In contrast, co-founder David Briggs will shift his attention to Product and Innovation at GeoComply.

Fitzdares to Leave Ontario-regulated Market

The British-based online gaming platform Fitzdares has announced that it will leave the Ontario-regulated market. After nearly two years of operation in the province, Fitzdares will cease both its sports betting and online gaming platforms.

“We have loved Ontario, and made some great friends, but the cost of doing business was becoming prohibitive,” said Fitzdares Country Manager, Canada, Clive Harris in a statement to Canadian Gaming Business. “We will continue to monitor the competitive and regulatory environment closely, as we gear up for exciting times ahead.”

Fitzdares notified all Ontario players of its decision, confirming that it will issue no updated bonuses or promotions after March 3 and that the platform will stop accepting wagers effective March 25.

BetMGM Extends Partnership with British Columbia Lottery Corporation for Problem Gambling Awareness Month

With the arrival of Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) in the United States, online sports operator BetMGM and its parent company, casino entertainment group MGM Resorts International, have revealed that they will boost the responsible gaming messaging offered by their GameSense program.

GameSense was first developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. In 2017, MGM Resorts licensed it, and BetMGM later adopted it. It features a multitude of tools provided to help gamblers. Most notably, it offers responsible gambling resources to players in both retail and online locations.

As part of PGAM, BetMGM will expand on the GameSense platform to offer QR codes so players can easily access gambling resources and provide ‘take a time-out’ messaging on its digital platforms to remind players that it is okay to stop.

BetMGM and MGM Resorts have also extended a partnership with Kindbridge Behavioral Health, a gambling referral program that will provide specialized mental health services and critical support for players suffering from gambling addiction. It will be available in all jurisdictions in which BetMGM currently operates.

“Responsible gaming is a focal point of our operations, and we will continue to invest in programs that promote player protection and well-being. Expanding our partnership with Kindbridge ensures that essential support services are always within reach for those who need it, “ said Rhea Loney, CCO at BetMGM.
