Incentive Games Expands Ontario Presence with BetMGM Deal

Online casino games developer Incentive Games has expanded its presence in the Ontario-regulated market after its real-money gaming studio, Incentive Studios, launched four of its titles through BetMGM.

The titles include Velocity, Mega Flight, Kicker, and Squid Game Red Light Green Light Cashout. The games will be available on BetMGM’s Ontario platform, and according to Incentive Games, represents a key moment in its expansion plans throughout North America.

So far, Incentive Games holds licenses in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ontario.

“We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with BetMGM and to see four of our real-money titles go live in Ontario. From the outset, it’s been clear that we share a strong focus on delivering engaging, high-quality player experiences, making this a natural collaboration for both teams. This launch marks an exciting milestone for Incentive Studios as we continue our expansion across regulated markets, and we look forward to growing our relationship with the BetMGM team,” said Ahmed Baker, Chief Commercial Officer at Incentive Games.

Ontario Tribunal Fines Sudbury Casino After 17-Year-Old Snuck In

The Ontario License Appeal Tribunal has upheld a fine given to Gateway Casinos Sudbury after a 17-year-old managed to enter the property four different times. The casino is expected to pay $12,500 after being handed two violations: failing to deny entry to a minor ($5,000) and allowing a minor to participate in lottery schemes ($7,500).

The Tribunal’s decision was released June 8 after adjudicator Dagmara Szczudlo rejected an appeal submitted by the casino’s operator, Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, maintaining that they had failed to uphold their regulatory duties under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission Act.

According to the Tribunal, the minor gained access to the casino’s gaming floor from April 6 to 8 last year by using the ID of a friend who was over 19 at the time. When prompted by security to present secondary identification, the minor provided a health card renewal document that did not meet the casino’s internal compliance requirements.

Gateway Casinos argued that its staff met all requirements, yet the Tribunal agreed that the casino should have known the ID did not belong to the minor.

Toronto Blue Jays Star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Becomes Responsible Gaming Ambassador for Betway

Global sportsbook Betway has announced its latest athlete partnership in Canada, signing Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as one of its Responsible Gambling Ambassadors. Guerrero Jr. joins the likes of other athletes part of Betway’s growing list of athlete representatives, including retired French footballer Thierry Henry.

Betway, which operates in Ontario and soon looks to transition its sportsbook to Alberta’s upcoming market on July 13, said that as part of Guerrero Jr.’s role as a responsible gambling ambassador is to promote the sportsbook’s responsible gambling tools.

In Ontario, only active and retired athletes can endorse gambling entities if it is to promote responsible gambling messaging, as in line with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s regulations. In other jurisdictions where this is not the case, Guerrero Jr. will be used to promote Betway in its entirety.

“We’re thrilled to team up with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to promote responsible gambling. His influence, integrity, and connection with fans make him an ideal figure to help amplify the importance of safe and responsible play,” said Super Group CEO Neal Menashe.
